Eagle Pose

Garuda = The name of a fierce bird of prey, the vehicle (vahana) of the Hindu god Vishnu - usually described as an eagle, but sometimes as a hawk, or kite.

 

Breathing

This is the most “compacted’ of the one-legged balancing postures, both from the standpoint of the shape/center of gravity, and the breathing. The entwining of the arms compressed the ribcage, and the hip flexion, combined with the mild spinal flexion compress the lower abdomen.
