FAQ: Technical Troubleshooting

Tech Question? We're here to help!

There are a few ways to do it, but here’s the method we prefer because it’s very clear when the download has finished:
  1. Mouse over the “Download this video” or “Download this audio” link.
  2. Right-click the link. (If you are on a Mac, this may be control-click.)
  3. Select “Save As,” or “Save target as.” - Choose to save to your Desktop.
  4. Wait until the media has finished downloading.
  5. Move the file to iTunes, or wherever you would like to play it.
If you've tried this and the download is incomplete or you don't think it came through, please clear your cache and try this method again. (Instructions for your specific browser can be found here).
The easiest way to download onto an iPad or iPhone is to download onto another computer, transfer the movie to itunes, and then sync the two devices.

If your iPad IS your primary computer, or if you're traveling and don't have access to another device, there are still still options available, and they require an additional outside app.

We don't have an official recommendation, but we have had success with one app, so we'll share those details with you here.

The app is called "Video Downloader Pro."

When we wrote this article and tried the app, it was $3.99. There's a free version, as well, but there's a limit to the amount of storage, so we upgraded because we wanted to keep multiple videos at once.

Once you've downloaded the app, you use it just like a regular browser.  When you find the video you want to download, you'll hold your finger over the "download" button, but you won't "click" it.  After about 3 seconds, you'll have a small menu that pops up with a big red "Download" button option.  If you click it, the iPad will start downloading the movie.

In the future, when you look for the class, you'll first open the app, then go into the "Files"
YogaAnatomy.net works in all modern browsers, but we recommend using Google Chrome or Safari, since they've been the most reliable. We built the courses in this browser and it runs everything beautifully. (Click here to download Chrome for free.)

A note: We strongly advise against using Internet Explorer. We've seen countless mystery issues solved by switching from Explorer to one of the two browsers above.

If the video keeps stopping, that means it hasn’t loaded or buffered all the way. If you are sure it has loaded all the way, and it’s still not working, try clearing your cache and letting it load once more. You can clear your cache by clicking on the name of your browser in the top left corner, and then choosing “Clear Browsing Data.” (Instructions for your specific browser can be found here.)

All videos have been tested before they’re published online, so they are there in their entirety.

Remember that you can always download the videos for better playback if your internet connection is making streaming fussy.

Soundcloud, our streaming audio provider, has a direct download link on the page.  Once you've clicked through to the Soundcloud page from the EME email, click on the download link that's located underneath the player, just above Amy's picture on the left.

This should start an automatic download to the default download location on your computer.  (Usually a "Downloads" or a "Documents" folder if you don't know.)

If you can't find the file by downloading in this manner, try this other method:
  1. Mouse over the “Download” link in the Soundcloud window.

(Instructions for your specific browser can be found here.)
